14). Part 2----The blanket, dresser and pottery I made in High School.

Well, after Jim and I moved into our apartment in Westland we lived together for about another year and had the time of our lives. We were still going to clubs every weekend and I got a kick out of dressing up and looking like part of the band. I would sit in the audience and be in awe of his beautiful voice. I can still hear him sing to this day. I decided I did not want to compete for his love of Fish and his new obsession.... A gray Fox.... yes. It's true he came home one day and had a baby gray fox. It was bad enough we had 13 fish tanks in a one bedroom apartment and a $500.00 a month electric bill, now I had this gray fox growling at me when I was on the toilet. We kept him in the bathroom and it was terrible, I was afraid he was going to bite me everytime I went in there to take a shower or use the bathroom. I remember taking my slipper off while sitting on the toilet and smacking that fox to get away from me. I was terrified! I decided it was too much for me and I wanted out... I was working at a Jewlery Store selling diamond rings and decided I wanted to try something else, so I got a job at a print shop in downtown Plymouth working for Mr. Fred Blakenship. I was designing and printing and having the time of my life. I loved the ink, I loved the smell of the paper, I loved the final product.... Wedding Invatations, business cards...... Letterhead. It was fun stuff forsure.
So I felt like I needed to move on and try something else. But I had no furniture... All of my stuff that I moved out of my parents with, I left at Steve and Kathy's when I was 18. I had not talked to them in a few years and called the number that I had for them. That number was disconnected. For some reason, I always remembered Steve's parent's phone number out in Belleville. So I dialed the number and Mr. Wilson answerd the phone. I told him who I was and that I was looking for Steve and Kathy. He got so excited and said, " Hi Kathy, I remember you and Steve's number is... I wrote down the number that he gave me and said, Thanks for the information and I hung up from Mr. Wilson and Called Steve. He answered the phone, I said,' Hey, It's Kathy..... He was so excited to hear from me and invited me over to his place for some drinks and to help him set up his new stereo he had just bought for himself for his birthday. So he told me where he was and I went over there. We drank some Vodka and Orange Juice and I helped him with the stereo and even helped him do his dishes. I remember it like yesterday! He told me he and Kathy got divorced the year earlier. I was so happy to see my long lost friend...
Then he got the stereo all hooked up, The first song that was on was by Steve Miller and it was called Abracadabra............ Steve asked me to dance and I said Yes in a heartbeat. At that moment I was looking at him as still my friend from way back when when out of the blue he bent down and kissed me on my neck. If I could describe the feeling I had at the moment I totally would. My knees went weak, I got all warm and fuzzy, and was in shock that my friend just kissed my neck and I got that feeling...... I was in total shock for about a minute....... Then we kissed and kissed and kissed..... and made out right there on the living room floor. It was the sweetest ever. I knew at that moment that the way he made me feel......... I could kiss him for a lifetime. I just knew it....... So I was still living with Jim and just kissed Steve over and over and over. Yes, I admit it... We ended up in his room and I looked around his room and looked in his closet that was open and saw my Pottery that I had made when I was in High School. I actually screamed and said, OH MY GOD.... You have my pottery I made.... it was filled to the top with pennies, he was using it as a coin holder. I could not believe it.... Then he told me that he still had my blanket, my bed, my dresser and it was at his parents house for the past two years. He knew one day I would want it back.............. I was shocked and happy at the same time. He was so handsome and the way my heart beat when I was in his presence amazed both of us........... totally awsome feelings we were having. So I drove home that night and the next day Steve called me and asked if he could take me out on a date. I said, "Absolutely yes." So he came to my apartment with Jim while he was gone and picked me up. I think I left Jim a note and told him I'd be back later.......... Well, Steve and I had a fun night catching up on what had been happening to him the past few years since we last saw eachother and we just really re-connected. It was time for him to take me home. We pulled into the Apartment Complex and he climbed over the drivers seat and layed on top of me in the passenger seat just kissing me and kissing me and saying I don't want you to leave........ Just then.............. we heard knock, knock, knock on the passenger window. We both looked at it was Jim.. He was waiting for me in the parking lot. I told Steve stay right where he was and I just wanted to melt into the passenger seat of the car. I was so caught red handed kissing Steve in Steve's car........... Talk about an Oh MY GOD moment...... I got out of the car and said nothing until we got into the apartment. I heard nothing Jim was saying, all I could think of was Steve saying, I'll be back to get you tomorrow. I could not wait to kiss his lips again! So the next day........ Steve called and asked if I was alright, I told him I was fine and Thanked him for being so kind and patient at a the moment we got Busted!! It was the craziest 24 hours in my life. Steve and I fell head over heals in Love............. I mean Love..... I could not even believe that my friend that I had known was kissing me the way he was, I could not believe I was kissing him back the way I was..... he had me at Hello.........
We then moved into our own apartment. I was still working at the Print shop in Plymouth and still loving my job, and looking forward everyday for lunchtime. I knew Steve would be on his bike in the park downtown in Plymouth. I don't know how many miles he was riding everyday to see me, but it was so adorable. We would have our lunch in the park and then he would ride his bike back to the apartment and then go to work afternoons as a Tool and Die Maker.
We dated and lived together for 6 months when he asked me to marry him. I said Yes in about one second flat!
