It's Saturday January 19th, 1985.
I have not written in awhile, I've been busy! Really Busy!!! I'm making a bedspread and a pillow, and just trying to keep the Apartment clean is a big job.
Our baby girl Shanelle got her first shot on January 8th, and you cried, oh did you cry.... I cried too! I'm so happy you did not have a fever or anything after your shot, you just slept alot the next two days. You ate and slept and ate and slept. My sweet little baby girl...
Yesterday was your cousin Nicole's birthday, and you have a new 2nd Cousin, born on January 3rd. His name is Andrew Eagle.
We went to Grandma and Grandpa's for cake and ice cream for Nicole and it was so delicious. They even had pizza too. I ate the ice cream and not the pizza, go figure...
A couple of days ago you rolled off the dresser, but I caught you, I was so scared, it was really crazy. But you are okay, I think I was more shook up than you were.
Today is Sunday February 10th. Grandma Wilson's birthday is today!!! She is 63 years old. We went over there and had dinner with them last night. You will be 3 months old tomorrow. Daddy and I think you have grown so much! You just love to stand up, your little legs are so strong. They are getting so chubby. Really cute! Yesterday I gave you a bath and you stood right up when I was washing your back, your little legs just wanted to show me how strong they are... I just love you so much Shanelle June! So much, so much, so much!
It's a Sunday and your Daddy is working and it feels so weird, we just wanted to save some money.
You are almost too big for that Bassinet already, and I'm super excited to get you to sleep in your new crib. We had to put the mattress in layaway but she should get it out in a couple of weeks. I have not been writing in this journal like I should, it's been almost one month.
In that last month you learned to blow bubbles and our hair has really been growing. It looks dark. Like Daddy's. You like to watch television, Daddy has been doing alot of taping, so whe you get older you can watch all these really good tapes, alot of wild life and much more.

January 1985 Happy New Year......
Today is January 5th, 1985.
It's a Saturday and Daddy's at work, our sweet baby Shanelle is sleeping and I just finished baking some home made banana bread. The whole apartment smells so delicious. I'm sure the neighbor's can even smell it.
New Year's eve was so nice. We got to babysit Nicole for a little while. She was just really looking at you and even helped me burp you. She was not quite sure she liked me nursing you. You two little girls are just so sweet, I'm just loving every moment with the two of you. I hope you grow up to be really close like me and my sister are.
Dad and I want shopping today to buy a Video Player. It's called a Video Cassette Recorder. It's really nice. Mommy and Daddy had the reception of our wedding taped and now we can watch it. I can't wait to see how adorable we looked. I hope you can see the love that we felt that day on the video shine thru on the video. I was a very happy Bride, and I was marrying my very favorite person in the whole wide world. I love your Daddy!!!!

The last days of 1984.
It's the end of December and we are counting our blessings, and so happy 1984 was such a wonderful year. Having a baby girl in our lives, something that we created is just truly the most amazing feeling ever in this whole entire world. I have never loved so strongly and deeply. I'm amazed at my sweet little family. I love you Stephen, Amy and Sweet Baby Shanelle xoxoxo
Love, Momma xo
January 29, 1984 Saturday..
Daddy and I started taping some of your baby cries, and we even got you sucking on your hand tonight. such a cute stage you are in. You took hold of my finger on one hand and squeezed, and you took hold of my other finger on my other hand and were opening and closing your hand. Opposite things with both hands. Daddy and I noticed that you are moving your arms alot more, and you love to kick you legs. You have been rolling your head from side to side when you're in your bassinet. You even try to stand straight up when Daddy holds you. He Loves to call you little Bambino. It sounds so cute when he calls you that. You even seem to smile alot more. You also seem to be a really happy baby!!! That makes your Momma so very happy!
Daddy and I gave you your first shower, Daddy and I had to both hold you so you wouldn't wiggle out of our arms. You are so active with your arms and legs now you are such a little mover and shaker and such a little cutie pie.... I'm so in LOVE!

December 1984 --- continued...
Today is Monday, I forgot what we did on Friday. I know I spent Thursday night writing out Baby announcements and Thank You cards. I had dinner at Kathie and Chuck's on Friday. That's what we did.
Saturday Daddy only had to work from 12:30-5:30. So he had the night off. We all went to see Debbie and her friend Carol's new place out in Dearborn. You were such a good baby girl. You were just a little fussy, but when Daddy held you, you became quiet. It was really cute.
Sunday my Uncle Paul and Aunt Jan and your second cousins Paul, Julie and Doug came to visit. They brought you some flowers and a vase. I am going to take a picture of them now that I think about it.
Today, Daddy changed the living room around because I put up the Christmas tree last night. It was so crowded in here. I also wrapped Christmas presents.
Oh yea, you smiled at me twice yesterday. You were awake and I was so touched! You melted my heart. The only time we see you smile is when your belly is full and you're falling asleep. What a little sweetie you are!
We went to Kathie's tonight and cut out snowflakes for decorations. It was fun. We even put glitter on them. I think our apartment looks really sweet. I'm glad Daddy changed the living room around. It needed a change.
You are asleep right now. But I'm tired so, I will put you in your Bassinet and go to sleep myself. You look so cozy on the couch, I hate to move you, but I wouldn't want you to fall off the couch. I know you don't roll over yet, but I won't take any chances.
We have a busy day tomorrow. You have your First Doctor's appointment. I'm anxious to see how much you have grown and also how much you weigh.
Nitey-nite Sweethearts!
Well, It's 6:00 a.m. Tuesday December 11, 1984.
You are 1 month old today. I wanted to write in here how you woke us up. You screamed so loud! Both Daddy and I jumped out of bed. When you and I went to bed you were sleeping on my chest, and when Daddy came home he wanted to put you in the Bassinet, but I was too sleepy. I don't even remember him comming to bed. Well I woke up and put you in your Bassinet and when you screamed, Daddy thought I squished you. But you were just hungry and you were all upset because you were on the side of the Bassinet and you probably could not scoot. As soon as I picked you up and changed your diaper, I felt something wet on my leg and foot, and it was my breast milk leaking. Feeding time! I'm glad you were just screaming because you could not scoot and not something serious!..
You are one month old today, I took you to the Doctor's for your first appointment. You are 21 3/4 inches long and 7 lbs 10 ozs. I knew you were growing. What a little sweetie you are!
